The Tennessee Vols are one of several programs hoping to land 2025 five-star forward Nate Ament.

Ament, 6-foot-9/185 lbs from Manassas, VA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 2 power forward in the nation and the No. 4 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Arkansas, Duke, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Louisville are the five finalists for Ament.

247Sports' Travis Branham said this week on the College Basketball Show that Tennessee is a school that he's keeping a close eye on.

"Tennessee is a school that I'm keeping a close eye on," said Branham. "They continue to pick up more and more buzz. They've gained traction in this recruitment. They've moved up and are nipping at the heels of Duke to ultimately land Nate Ament. There's been talks of a decision being made in the next two weeks. But that's basically what we've been hearing for the last month and a half."

Duke is likely Tennessee's biggest competition in this recruiting battle, though we certainly can't rule out the other three finalists.

Scouting report via 247Sports: Ament is one of the best long-term prospects in the country. He's an immense talent and still in the early stages of putting it all together. He has good positional size for a face-up forward at over 6-foot-9 with an elastic body type, albeit a relatively modest 6-foot-11 wingspan. He's a fluid mover, plus athlete, and has tremendous natural hands and touch, which are the foundation of his developing skill-set.

We should find out how this recruiting battle plays out over the next couple of weeks. Tennessee is in a good spot, but this is a battle that could still go in a number of different ways.
