Cowboys Ex QB Goes Viral with Dodgers in Japan

Rodney Peete, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback who is used to throwing balls instead of catching them, was spotted at the Major League Baseball Opening Day game in Tokyo. The former University of Southern California star baseball player made an appearance at the game which was caught on television.

Peete was sitting down the third-base line. A ball was hit into foul territory and worked its way into the stands where Peete was sitting. Max Muncy of the Los Angeles Dodgers was racing toward Peete to catch the foul ball. Muncy went into the crowd to try and make the catch for the out, but could not get to it.

However, Peete made a spectacular catch in the seats.

Dressed in a Tommy Lasorda, Dodgers-blue hoodie, Peete had his hat and glove and made the catch in the stands.

Peete was deep in the stands and far away from Muncy. It was not like Peete was fighting Muncy for the ball. Steve Bartman fans do not have to have visions of Peete taking the ball out of Muncy's glove a la Moises Alou in the 1997 National League Divisional Series.

Peete was at the game with his wife, actress and talk-show host Holly Robinson Peete. He stared at the camera briefly when making the catch and made sure his wife was not shaken up by the action.

Robinson-Peete could not waste the opportunity to put the occasion on social media.

"...the gloves (and helmets) were in the seats. Ain't now way Rodney brought a glove to the Tokyo Dome. I swear that ball was going to hit meeee,"," Robinson-Peete posted.

She clarified the fact Peete is not one to usually bring a glove to a baseball game.

Peete found it necessary to retort.

"Dodger fan and my son is a clubhouse attendant for the Dodgers," Peete posted. "They provide gloves and helmets in Tokyo because netting is not very high down the lines. And yes I do work for @AM570LASports And crazy how the ball found me."
