Detroit Lions Rookie Isaac TeSlaa Shares Burning Hatred For Rival Team
- Detroit Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa speaks after practice during rookie minicamp at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park on Friday, May 9, 2025.

The Detroit Lions shocked many by trading up in the 2025 NFL Draft for wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa. While many loved his athletic ability, others questioned his lack of production at Arkansas. However, GM Brad Holmes made it clear that the young wide receiver was one of their favorite players, and, given his track record, it is hard to doubt Holmes and his staff. He seems to be fitting right in with the team. In an appearance on Amon-Ra St. Brown’s podcast, he revealed his burning hatred for NFC North rival, the Green Bay Packers.

Detroit Lions WR Isaac TeSlaa Hates Green Bay

St. Brown has made his hatred for the NFC North rivals painfully clear. Green Bay has been atop the division for many years, but the Detroit Lions have had their number over the past few games. Last season, they swept the series and have week 1 and Thanksgiving Day matchups set for the 2025 season. Isaac TeSlaa made an appearance on the St. Brown Brothers podcast this week and shared his thoughts on the Packers.

“I hate the Packers with a burning passion,” he said without missing a beat. Even though the other St. Brown brother was drafted by the Green and Gold, the hatred for Green Bay came out in the segment. It seems many Detroit Lions players have a distaste for the longtime rival, and every game against them feels huge.

2025 Outlook

The Detroit Lions are undoubtedly headed for some regression this year. Going 15-2 in back-to-back years is incredibly difficult, and there will likely be some adjustment period to the huge number of coaches they lost in the offseason. This does not mean I believe the Lions will be a bad team or not win the division. They definitely still have the talent on both sides of the ball.

The biggest questions come from key players coming back from injury, like Aidan Hutchinson, and how the offense will change without Ben Johnson calling the shots. Furthermore, all three teams in the division have made improvements to their roster, hoping to dethrone the 2024 champions.

Final Thoughts

TeSlaa has plenty to prove this year. Many thought this was a bad pick, so he will undoubtedly be anxious to prove the doubters wrong. Can the Lions continue their dominance over Green Bay in 2025?
