The Dallas Cowboys and head coach Mike McCarthy are parting ways after no new deal came together before his contract expired.
Now, the Cowboys must begin their search for a new head coach much later than the majority of teams already deep in their process. An intriguing candidate that has emerged is Cowboys legend, NFL Hall of Famer, and current University of Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders.
And it appears he has the backing of fellow Cowboys legend Dez Bryant.
I hope @DeionSanders get the cowboys coaching Job!
— Dez Bryant (@DezBryant) January 14, 2025
Bryant shared on his personal X account that he hopes Sanders becomes the Cowboys' next head coach. From one Cowboys legend to another, this is likely something fans are intrigued by.
Since the news came out about the mutual interest between Sanders and the Cowboys, he has released a statement. A statement that, depending on how you read it, could point towards him staying in college or making the jump to the NFL. And if you ask me, it was probably written that way on purpose.
We will have to wait and see if the mutual interest between both sides turns into a homecoming for Sanders. However, with the Cowboys having to play catch up with the other teams searching for a head coach, a candidate like Sanders falling in their lap could be a perfect outcome. So what do you think? Are you with Bryant and rooting for Sanders to be the next head coach of America's team, or are you skeptical about Sanders' fit with the Cowboys?
