The NFL is determined to have more games in different areas around the globe.

In January, the NFL announced the Miami Dolphins would host a game in Madrid, but it wasn't determined who they face. Rumors are circulating that the Dolphins will play their Madrid matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The rumors have made their way to the United States where Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is getting excited about the opportunity of playing in Madrid. This game will be the first time that an NFL game will be played in Madrid as more unique destinations continue to be announced.

The game would be played in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, home of the Real Madrid Futbol Club and various national games of Spain.

The Dolphins are no strangers to playing in international games as they’ve six games. They have a 1-5 record of playing in games outside of the United States. Their last international game was in 2023, when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Munich, Germany.

The Bengals have only been to two international games in their franchise, both played at Wembley Stadium in London. They have a 0-1-1 record in international, including the 27-27 tie in 2016.

Miami and Cincinnati have faced each other 26 times with the last game being a 27-15 home win for the Bengals in 2022. This game would continue the rivalry between Burrow and Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Burrow is 1-2 versus Tagovailoa, going back to their collegiate, where Tagovailoa was with the Alabama Crimson Tide and Burrow was with the LSU Tigers.
