The Indiana Fever has become a powerhouse team over the last two WNBA seasons. As they eye the 2026 championship, who better than Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green to take suggestions in building a dynasty?
In his recent appearance on the “Post Moves” podcast hosted by Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston, the 36-year-old discussed the Fever’s potential to become a rising WNBA dynasty, while reflecting on his own experience with the Warriors.
“Number one, it’s like everybody got to be themselves,” said Green. “There can be no pressure on Caitlin to be who Aliyah is. There can be no pressure on Aliyah to be who Kelsey is. Everyone must be themselves. Steph, Klay, and myself are three completely different cast of characters. And so there was never any commotion amongst us because we just being us, man. But there must be a care about the place that you’re at.”

The four-time NBA champion knows what he’s talking about, as the Warriors between 2015 and 2019 were possibly one of the greatest dynasties the NBA has ever seen. On the backs of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant, the Bay Area team reached five consecutive finals from 2015 to 2019, winning three of them.
As Parker stated, the Indiana Fever were on the verge of reaching the WNBA Finals last year without the help of Clark, who was out injured. Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell massively stepped up in her place.
Now that the trio is back together in the starting lineup, the Fever face huge expectations to win the 2026 championship. Once again, Clark deserves credit for taking over the league as Rookie of the Year in 2024 and putting the Fever, who won their only championship in 2012, back in the title picture.
Her inclusion also contributed to the Fever franchise’s valuation to increase from a measly $90 million to the third most valuable team in the league with $560 million. Now, all eyes are on the Fever, who are the only team in the WNBA to have all 44 of their regular-season games nationally televised, 39 of them in NBA arenas.
It is clear that the Fever now possesses all the ingredients for a historic season. All that remains is the output they are expected to show.
CC is usually compared to the Warriors’ Steph Curry, mainly because of her incredible three-point shooting prowess. Similar to Curry, Clark often faces tough and highly physical challenges from rivals to stop him from scoring.
That is where the 2017 DPOY Green comes in aid of Curry, and Parker feels like Boston could do the same job for Clark. She implied that Boston should play a disruptor role for Clark at times to assist the latter on the court.
“You have to learn how to play through that,” Parker explained to Boston on the same podcast. “You and Caitlin have to figure out some sort of way where you kind of take on her challenges. So, somebody’s messing with her, you come up… I’m not saying you hurt anybody, but you’re able to take a foul or kinda loosen things up.”
The first test for the Indiana Fever comes in the form of Paige Bueckers and No. 1 overall pick Azzi Fudd’s Dallas Wings on May 9. Do you think the Fever finally has all the requirements to aim for the WNBA championship this year?
