Draymond Green Sends Critical Message to Josh Allen About Bills Playoff Failures

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is fresh off an impressive MVP campaign, but yet another postseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was his fourth time losing to the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the most all-time playoff losses to an opponent without a victory.

Allen has arguably done enough to win multiple times, but Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green doesn’t think so.

“I don't care how Herculean of a comeback effort you have at home in Week One, he's never going to be the guy that's going to come out and win a championship and be the guy when it matters the most; he's not the guy,” said Green.

The comments were made on a podcast series with NFL insider Jordan Schultz, where the four-time champion discusses football, one of his biggest passions outside of basketball.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but Allen’s playoff numbers would beg to differ with the idea that he isn’t the guy in the playoffs.

Disproving Green’s Assertions

The Bills star has the best touchdown to interception ratio out of any quarterback in playoff history with at least 12 games played.

He’s also pushed Mahomes to the brink twice, something that’s seldom happened to the three-time champion outside of his Super Bowl appearances.

Allen’s playoff failures appear to be more indicative of Mahomes’ individual greatness, rather than his own shortcomings.

After all, the reigning MVP famously put Buffalo ahead against the Chiefs with 13 seconds left to play in the 2022 Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Mahomes then got his team in field goal range in just 10 seconds, tying the game and eventually capturing the victory in overtime. It was the game of Allen’s life, throwing for 329 yards and four touchdowns, but still coming up short in the end.

Nobody can argue that Allen could very well retire without a championship, but it’s hard to argue that it would be his fault with the gaudy numbers he puts up in the playoffs.

Green claims he will be proven right until Allen can win a championship, so it seems like he’ll have to deal with criticism until he can finally get over the hump.
