The Philadelphia Eagles closed out the preseason with a close 19-17 win over the New York Jets to finish the preseason with a 2-1 overall record.

Now comes the tough part as the team has to start making tough decisions on the roster. The Eagles have until Tuesday to make final cuts for the roster to trim down to 53 players.

Who will make the final roster? Who played well enough against the Jets to earn a spot?

Eagles' final 53-man roster after preseason win over Jets

Q uarterback (3):  Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Kyle McCord

Dorian Thompson-Robinson did not even appear in the preseason game against the Jets, as it was all McCord. It could either mean Thompson-Robinson is a lock at QB3 or McCord is. Since the Eagles used a draft pick on McCord, he should still have the edge in the competition.

Running Back (3):  Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, A.J. Dillon

All three backs seemed to have been locks for the roster since the beginning. Montrell Johnson Jr. had a strong last two weeks of preseason action, but he's most likely a practice squad candidate.

Fullback (1): Ben VanSumeren

The Eagles will feature the fullback more frequently in the offense once the season begins. VanSumeren had an 11-yard catch against the Jets, showcasing the versatility he brings to the table in Philly.

Wide Receiver (6):  A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Ainias Smith, John Metchie III, Darius Cooper

Johnny Wilson's unfortunate season-ending injury opened the door for Ainias Smith and Cooper to make t he roster. Smith had a tough night with two drops and a bad decision on a punt return, so he might be lucky that his spot should be okay. Cooper only had one catch himself, but his rapport with Jalen Hurts in camp might have already been enough for the undrafted rookie to make it.

Tight End (3):  Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Kylen Granson

Granson always seemed like he was destined to be TE3 on the roster, but his 19-yard reception against New York certainly helped his cause. E.J. Jenkins had a bad drop in the game, but he should still find his way onto the practice squad.

O ffensive Line (9):  Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Lane Johnson, Myles Hinton, Brett Toth, Matt Pryor, Drew Kendall

The backups on the offensive line really struggled to the point where there might be questions about who makes it. Kendall Lamm and Trevor Keegan are two veterans who got beaten time and time again in Friday's preseason finale. They might have caused themselves jobs on the Eagles.

Defensive Line (5):  Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson, Gabe Hall

Byron Young made a convincing argument to make the 53-man roster, but he might be just on the outside with so much other talent around the roster. Hall might get some looks in the regular season, but the rotation will really be between the other four, mainly.

Edge Rushers (4):  Nolan Smith Jr., Jalyx Hunt, Azeez Ojulari, Josh Uche

Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. put up a nice performance against the New York Jets with a sack and a forced fumble, but it might be too little, too late after no stats in the first two weeks. If anything, Powell-Ryland could steal a roster spot from Ojulari, but he has had a good enough last two weeks to find his way onto the roster.

Inside Linebackers (5):  Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Smael Mondon Jr.

Campbell and Trotter have arguably been the stars for the Eagles on defense during the preseason. Trotter has shown to be a great run stopper, and Campbell's speed will surely have him lining up on the edge from time to time. Mondon had a nice close to the last two preseason games that helped him seal his spot on the team.

Cornerback (7):  Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Kelee Ringo, Adoree' Jackson, Mac McWilliams, Eli Ricks, Jakorian Bennett

It was a very telling sign that Jackson and Ringo sat out of the game, as it appears that Jackson might have earned the starting job at CB2. Bennett and McWilliams had good nights against the Jets, so they should be on the roster. Ricks had an up-and-down game, so that he would be the only one truly on the bubble.

Safety (4):  Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, Andrew Mukuba, Tristin McCollum

Mukuba's injury might have Brown end up being the Week 1 starter. McCollum is a tremendous physical safety who makes sense as a backup.

Special Teams (3):  Jake Elliott, Braden Mann, Charley Hughlett

Elliott had two 50+ yard field goals in the Jets' preseason game. It was great to see him show some of the old Elliott fans used to see.
