The Cincinnati Cyclones have acquired defenseman Spencer Cox from the Indy Fuel in exchange for cash considerations. Cox, 24, has not played in any games yet during the 2025-26 season. He made his pro debut at the end of last season, where he had two assists in 13 games with the Fuel. This trade gives Cox a fresh start and a chance to finally see some ice time.

The Powell, Ohio, native began his junior career in the USHL, playing in six games with the Fargo Force and Omaha Lancers, putting up a goal and an assist. During this time, he was also playing high school hockey at the Culver Military Academy, where he put up 25 goals and 64 assists for 89 points in 112 games. Cox would finish his junior career in the NAHL with the Chippewa Steel, putting up four goals and 16 assists for 20 points in 43 games. He would lead all Steel defenseman in goals, points, and assists. Those numbers were good enough to earn him a spot on the NAHL (Midwest) All-Rookie Team.

Once his junior career was over, Cox would head to the NCAA, where he spent his first two years at Long Island University. In 68 games with the Sharks, he had eight goals and 25 assists for 33 points. He would spend his last two years of eligibility at Miami University (Ohio). During his time with the Redhawks, Cox had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 50 games.
