The Tahoe Knight Monsters have signed forward Michael Farren for the 2026-27 season. Farren, 26, had six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 14 games with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas (Slovakia) last season. He would add two goals and an assist for three points in six playoff games. Tahoe now has five forwards and four defensemen signed for the 2026-27 season.

The Surrey, British Columbia, native began his pro career overseas in Austria, where he had 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 points in 38 games with Steel Wings Linz (AlpsHL). He would then head to the ECHL, where he spent three seasons with the Tulsa Oilers. Over the course of his time with the Oilers, Farren put up 49 goals and 58 assists for 107 points in 170 games. He would add a goal over the course of 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Tulsa. Farren wore a letter in each of his last two seasons with the Oilers. During the 2024-25 season, he made his AHL debut, appearing in one game with the San Diego Gulls.

WHL Career

Prior to going pro, Farren spent parts of five seasons in the WHL with three different teams. In 248 WHL games, he put up 37 goals and 70 assists for 107 points. During his final season in the WHL, he led the Swift Current Broncos in goals (9) and points (23), while also wearing an “A”.
