Forward Reed Stark has signed a tryout contract with Dússeldorfer EG in the DEL2 after playing just three games with the Utah Grizzlies last season. He is the first player from the Grizzlies to take the overseas route since the 2024-25 season concluded.
Stark, 25, spent four seasons at the NCAA level with the University of Wisconsin-Superior before going pro. In 86 games with the Yellowjackets, he put up 31 goals and 25 assists for 56 points, he led the team in goals and points last season as well. He broke out in his final season at Wisconsin, putting up 14 goals and nine assists for 21 points in 25 games. Stark would end up being named to the NCAA III (WIAC) All-Conference Team in 2025. The Suffern, NY, native spent the majority junior career in the NAHL with the Springfield Jr. Blues, Jamestown Rebels, and Johnstown Tomahawks. Over the course of his three years in the NAHL, he put up 18 goals and 31 assists for 49 points in 88 games. He would play in eight NAHL playoff games, but had five goals in five games during the Towahawks in 2021.
During the 2018-19 season, Stark began his junior career playing in two games in the BCHL with the Langley Rivermen. He would then join the New Jersey Rockets (NCDC), where he had two goals and three assists for five points in 21 games before heading to the NAHL. Stark returned to the NCDC during the 2019-20 season, where he played in two games with the Northern Cyclones.
