The Tahoe Knight Monsters have added a new name to their forward core with the signing of Mike O’Leary for the 2025-26 season. O’Leary, 27, spent 26 games last season in North America before heading overseas. He would put up one goal and nine assists for 10 points in 14 games with the Florida Everblades before getting called up to the AHL, where he played 12 games with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he played in 12 games but couldn’t find the scoresheet. O’Leary, 6’2, 201lb, will bring some size to the Knight Monsters roster. He is the first new forward and the fourth forward to join Tahoe for the 2025-26 season.

O’Leary would finish the year in Finland playing with lleves (Liiga) where he put up a goal and three assists for four points in 18 games and won a Liiga Bronze Medal. It was his second stint with the team after playing in seven games during the 2023-24 season. The Halifax, Nova Scotia, native began his pro career with the Hartford Wolf Pack, playing just over two seasons with the team. In 70 games with the Wolfpack, he would put up seven goals and seven assists for 14 points. He also spent two seasons with the Iowa Wild. In 106 games with the Wild, he would put up 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points. O’Leary also saw action in two Calder Cup Playoff games during his time with Iowa.
Prior to going pro, O’Leary spent four years at the NCAA level with the University of Notre Dame. In 151 games with the Fighting Irish, he would put up 20 goals and 37 assists for 57 points. The Fighting Irish would win back-to-back B1G Championships in 2018 and 2019.
