The Wheeling Nailers have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Mike Posma for the 2026-27 season. Posma, 24, is coming off his first full season in the ECHL, in which he put up 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 46 games. He would add two goals and two assists for four points, along with 32 PIMs, in 15 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Pomona, New York, native made his ECHL debut during the 2024-25 season, putting up an assist in four games with the Florida Everblades. Wheeling now has 20 players signed to ECHL deals for the 2026-27 season.

Prior to going pro, Posma spent parts of two seasons in the USHL playing for three different teams. Over the course of 86 games in the USHL, he had 19 goals and 21 assists for 40 points. He played in two games during the 2021 playoffs with the Omaha Lancers.

After finishing his junior career, he spent parts of four seasons in the NCAA at Boston College. During his time with the Eagles, Posma put up 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 142 games. The Eagles won the Hockey East Regular Season Championship during his junior year and followed it up by winning the Hockey East Tournament Championship the following year.
