The next update for X's popular artificial intelligence companion Grok is almost here.
The owner and executive chairman of X, Elon Musk, took to the platform on Monday to announce that the release livestream for Grok 4, the newest version of the AI program, will be on Wednesday, July 9, at 8 p.m. PT.
Musk, who will almost certainly post the stream on his own X account, had previously announced last month that the Grok 4 update would come some time after the Fourth of July.
According to Grok itself, the differences between Grok 3 and Grok 4 have not been made public, so we'll just have to wait and see what those are exactly.
The AI assistant was created by a company founded by Musk, xAI, and initially debuted in November 2023.
Grok is fully integrated into the platform and is even capable of answering questions in the replies of user posts by tagging the AI program and then asking the question.
Grok can also be accessed by clicking on its icon on the sidebar.
Grok has over 4.7 million followers on X, and Tech Dev Notes claims it is the "most publicly interacted AI in the world," with the AI program having over 16.1 million posts on the platform in total.
