This is the Everton predicted lineup for their second match of the Premier League campaign. The Toffees will take on Brighton & Hove Albion as they aim to rebound from a rather tepid defeat to Leeds in their season opener. After getting very few shots away, David Moyes will have to change his approach to get more out of his side.

Everton Predicted Lineup vs Brighton for Premier League Tie

How Everton Have Lined Up Recently

They started the defeat to Leeds with Jordan Pickford in goal. James Garner, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, and Jake O’Brine featured as the back four. Idrissa Gueye was partnered in defensive midfield by Tim Iroegbuam.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was the starting attacking midfielder with Illiman Ndiaye and Carlos Alcarez on the wings while Beto got the surprising nod to lead the line. Thierno Barry and Jack Grealish were the only substitutes used.

Everton Recent Form & Tactics

Moyes sets up in a resilient 4-2-3-1 with two defensive-focused midfielders shielding the back four. While the team sat back a lot under Sean Dyche, the new manager does task them with pressing in a different manner, never pushing too high but looking to at least cause problems to the opposition’s build-up. When in possession, they prefer a quick, direct move to their big, physical strikers.

The Toffees actually ended last season on a pretty solid run. The manager switch during the campaign breathed new life into their system and players. The defeat to Leeds and the manner of the performance have brought all momentum to a screeching halt but it may be a blip. The Whites have a very physical, tall squad who were able to combat what this Everton team excels at. This clash with the Seagulls will tell us a lot more about where they are as a team.

Everton Injuries to Consider

For a team built on defensive solidity, it is a big blow to have three seperate absences to the back line according to PremierInjuries. Regular starters Jarrad Brantwaithe and Vitali Mykolneko are sidelined as is rotation option Nathan Patterson.
