Coach Matt LaFleur's Green Bay Packers lost 22-10 to the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs, an outcome that set the stage for an offseason of hard work LaFleur hopes will lead Green Bay back to the Super Bowl, where they haven't been since 2011.
The Packers were the NFL's youngest team with an average age of 25 years, 9 months and six days by the time Super Bowl LIX rolled around this past January and must continue to mature physically for improved success in 2025-26.
On Tuesday, LaFleur's Packers were compared to an NBA championship winning team by Nate Collins, a former NFL defensive tackle, on a popular podcast.
Nate Collins, a member of the 'Green Light Podcast' with brothers and former NFL players Chris and Kyle Long, was asked by Chris Long which NFL team reminds him most of the NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
Collins did not hesitate to give his answer.
"So just off the fact that OKC is the youngest NBA team, just comparing it to that, I would say Green Bay," Collins said.
"Green Bay has a lot of young guys, I feel like, they probably do have a team, where, hey, you get in the playoffs, you win a couple games in a row, you can make it to the big stage," Collins said.
"It's not like a seven-game series like the NBA," Collins added.
