At the end of January, Notre Dame extended an offer to 2025 Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School star linebacker Antoine Deslauriers. The 6-1, 225-pound defender has a remarkable backstory, going from Canadian star to big time college football recruit in a very short amount of time.

As previously reported, Deslauriers is already quite high on Notre Dame. He has told Irish Breakdown that he has solidified an official visit for June 7th-9th. There is also a possibility that it the Georgia star will be making an unofficial visit prior to that date but nothing has been finalized yet.

A big reason for Deslauriers interest in the program is his early relationships with Max Bullough. He has made quite an impact on Deslauriers, which started with that initial offer,

"We had about a 30 to 35 minute conversation, just talking about football and explaining to me who he was as a person," Deslauriers said. "We had a great connection. I’m excited to build that relationship.”

As it stands, the Irish staff has a large group of linebackers that they are pursuing. Deslauriers is one of the notable names that Notre Dame is pursuing heavily. Getting his first look at South Bend, hopefully twice, before making his decision will be huge.

While Deslauriers may not have known what a scholarship was early on, he certainly does now. Even with the 2023 season being his first in the United States, the talented defender has been garnering a lot of interest in recent months. He now holds offers from the Fighting Irish, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, NC State, Maryland, Louisville, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, UCF and Duke among others.

In just his first season with the Eagles in 2023, Deslauriers finished with 72 total tackles in 12 games played. He also collected 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions, four quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.
