Oregon’s efforts to flip five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. have officially come to an end.

Henry, a standout at Santa Ana's Mater Dei and the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2026 class, announced Tuesday that he is shutting down his recruitment and reaffirming his commitment to Ohio State. The news was first reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“I want to be in Columbus and I want to be a Buckeye,” Henry told Fawcett.

Despite Oregon making a strong push, Henry’s decision effectively removes the Ducks from contention. He had been one of Oregon’s top targets in the 2026 class and previously visited Eugene for the team’s Junior Day in January. However, with his recruitment officially closed, Henry has canceled scheduled official visits to not only Oregon, but USC and Miami as well.

With Henry off the board, new Oregon wide receivers coach Ross Douglas will shift focus to other top targets. Among them are four-star prospects Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Messiah Hampton, and Jalen Lott, all of whom remain key priorities for the Ducks’ 2026 recruiting class.

Oregon continues its spring football practices this week as the team builds toward the 2025 Oregon Spring Game on April 26. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. PST at Autzen Stadium.
