The Florida Gators will play host to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Oct. 18 which will be the team's annual homecoming game. The contest will be played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the University of Florida campus.
The announcement was made Monday by the UF Athletic Department.
The Gators have a 73-26-2 all-time record in homecoming games. Since 1989, Florida has gone 31-5. The Gators beat Kentucky 48-20 during homecoming weekend last season.
Gator Nation first started celebrating homecoming in 1916 and Gator Growl has been a yearly, time-honored tradition. The week will be filled with activities for students and alumni.
Florida's full schedule of games for the 2025 season will be released by the Southeastern Conference in the coming weeks. The UF athletic department also announced on Monday the football team set records in the classroom this spring.
The Florida football team set the team spring semester GPA record with a 3.48, breaking the previous mark of a 3.37 spring GPA set in 2024. The team posted a program best cumulative team GPA of 3.46, eclipsing the prior record of 3.34 set in the spring of 2024.
Along with the GPA numbers, the Florida football team had 86 percent of the team average a 3.0 GPA or better. This includes 68 that posted a GPA of 3.50 or better. Additionally, eight players posted a 4.0 GPA in the spring. In total, 99 players currently hold a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
The spring culminated with seven players graduating from UF.
