A former Norwin football player died in a single-car accident in Butler County early Thursday morning.
Josiah Pastories, 19, of North Huntingdon, failed to negotiate a right curve and went down a slope before hitting a three at around 6:20 a.m. on Kittanning Pike near its intersection with Oak Road and Ridgeway Drive, WPXI reported.
WPXI further reported that Pastories was found dead at the scene.
The Norwin High School Football team issued a statement Thursday afternoon honoring the life and legacy of Pastories.
“With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our beloved Norwin Football class of 2023 alum, Josiah Pastories. His passion, dedication, and spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in Peace, #72.”
Pastories was a beloved member of the Norwin football and wrestling teams, playing on the offensive and defensive line for the Knights. He graduated from Norwin in 2023.
