Former Tennessee defender upsets fans of school where he finished his career with Vols-inspired social media post

Former Tennessee Vols defensive back Doneiko Slaughter spent the first four years of his career on Rocky Top before transferring to Arkansas for his final season of eligibility.

Slaughter, who is hoping to make the Jacksonville Jaguars roster this summer, helped lead the Razorbacks to a win against the Vols in Fayetteville last season.

That win over Tennessee, however, didn’t seem to earn Slaughter much equity with Arkansas fans.

Razorbacks fans were a bit miffed with Slaughter this week because he posted four photos of himself in a Tennessee uniform for the Instagram "hardest photo of your career" challenge.

After Arkansas fans apparently voiced their displeasure with Slaughter's choices, the former Tennessee defensive back responded by writing, "Y'all relax, my hogs pics [are] not as tuff as the Tennessee [ones]. Sorry, it's the truth."

Slaughter had four years of choices with the Vols to pick from versus just one season with the Razorbacks.

And the pic of Slaughter standing over Bryce Young during Tennessee's win against Alabama in 2022 is easily one of the best Vols photos of the last decade.

Slaughter also had one of the best Tennessee plays of the last decade in 2022 when his huge hit led to a Will Levis interception.

Arky fans are just gonna have to be mad. Most of Slaughter's best photos came in a Vols uniform -- even though the best season of his career was in 2024 at Arkansas.
