A former Tennessee Vols player from the Jeremy Pruitt era was included this week on The Athletic's "All-Geezer" 2025 college football team.
The Athletic put together a team of players that have been in college football for....a while (a couple of players on their list have been playing college football since 2018).
Former Vols defensive back Keyshawn Lawrence is one of the players that was included on The Athletic's All-Geezer team.
Lawrence, who will suit up for the UCLA Bruins in 2025, signed with the Vols during the 2020 recruiting cycle. He spent his true freshman season at Tennessee before transferring to Oklahoma in the midst of the Pruitt recruiting scandal.
The Tennessee native spent three seasons at Oklahoma before transferring to Ole Miss for the 2024 season.
From The Athletic: Really, all you need to know is that Lawrence, a former top-100 recruit, was a freshman on Jeremy Pruitt’s last Tennessee team.
He spent the next three seasons at Oklahoma, earning an All-Big 12 honorable mention nod in 2021, then transferred to Ole Miss last year. But after playing sparingly in the first four games, Lawrence opted to take a redshirt and was off the team by mid-October. He landed at UCLA in December.
Lawrence has the benefit of six seasons of eligibility via a medical redshirt in 2024 and his extra COVID season of eligibility from the 2020 season.
