Four-Star WR Praises Texas A&M Coaching Staff Following Notre Dame Commitment

Four-star wide receiver Kaydon Finley committed to Notre Dame on July 4 after the Fighting Irish swayed him from remaining at home in Texas for his NCAA career. Both Texas A&M and Texas attempted to lock the class of 2026 recruit in-state, but Notre Dame was the frontrunner to land Finley the closer his announcement came.

However, the son of former Longhorn and Green Bay Packer tight end Jermichael Finley didn't commit without offering praise and kindness to the three other schools that were in his final four.

Finley shared a warm message to Texas, Arizona State, and Texas A&M two days after committing to the Fighting Irish. On July 6, he posted to X in regards to the Aggies:

"It was tough stepping into enemy territory, being born into a Longhorn family. But Coach Elko, Coach Klein, and Coach Wiggins did everything they could to make me feel welcome. Coach Wiggins is serious when it comes to film breakdown and player development. One of the best I've seen. Through this recruitment, I've learned just how special a place A&M truly is."

Finley then went on to express gratitude for all the schools that extended offers and his recruitment journey as a whole, concluding with excitement for his future collegiate career at Notre Dame.

While unfortunate not landing Finley, the Aggies' wide receiver commits are solid. Madden Williams and Aaron Gregory are the four-star duo followed by three-star Mike Brown. Texas A&M is also in a great recruiting position overall with the No. 3 class of 2026 just ahead of the Fighting Irish and right behind No. 1 USC and No. 2 Georgia.
