Fox Sports has parted ways with an executive facing two lawsuits in which he's accused of sexual misconduct
According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, a Fox spokesperson said executive vice president of content Charlie Dixon is "no longer with Fox Sports." He was placed on administrative leave in February following new allegations of sexual battery.
Noushin Faraji, a former Fox Sports hairstylist, accused Dixon of groping her at a birthday party in 2017. According to the lawsuit filed in California, Dixon "used his position of power to coerce women into having sex with him and used it as justification to grope Ms. Faraji."
The lawsuit claimed that a former Fox employee told Faraji the network didn't renew her contract because she refused to have sex with Dixon. Faraji also accused Skip Bayless of offering her $1.5 million to have sex with him and Joy Taylor of creating a hostile work environment through discrimination.
"Fox's failure to prevent harassment perpetuated a misogynistic, racist, and ableist workplace where executives and talent were allowed to physically and verbally abuse workers with impunity," the lawsuit said.
Julie Stewart-Binks, a former Fox Sports 1 on-air personality, accused Dixon of sexually assaulting her before the 2016 Super Bowl. Per the lawsuit, Dixon "swiftly pushed her against the wall of the hotel and pinned her arms to her side. With her arms forcefully held down and his body pressed against hers, Dixon tried to force his tongue into her mouth."
Dixon allegedly told Stewart-Binks she wasn't funny, talented, interesting, and "not hot enough to be a hot girl on TV." Fox let her go shortly after the alleged assault, with another executive telling her they had "nothing for her to do here."
In the lawsuit, Stewart-Binks said she reported the allegations to a human resources employee. However, Fox "egregiously made the deliberate decision to protect Dixon and allow a sexual predator to remain an executive at Fox for nearly a decade."
Fox claimed they hired a third-party firm to investigate the allegations at the time and "addressed the matter based on their findings."
According to Front Office Sports, Fox and Stewart-Binks discussed a potential settlement in mediation earlier this month.
