Zyan Gibson is on pace to be one of the nation’s top cornerback prospects and one of the faces of the state of Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class.

Gibson is a product of Gadsden City High School in Gadsden, Alabama. His recruitment is constantly growing with recent offers from Florida and Oregon to go along with previous offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and others .

Like many other top 2026 prospects, Gibson’s phone was going crazy on June 15, which marked the beginning of the direct contact period for rising juniors.

“Alabama, Miami, Auburn, Tennessee, Nebraska and Missouri,” Gibson answered when asked to name just a handful of the schools in contact with him since mid-June.

The Crimson Tide jumped into Gibson’s recruitment early on when they offered him in March when only had a handful of offers.

“They really like me, and they like my game,” Gibson said when discussing Alabama at the Under Armour Future 50.

The Tide will get him back on campus for a visit this month on July 28.

Ole Miss is also a school of note in the early stages of Gibson’s recruitment. His dad played for the Rebels in the early 2000s, and the 2026 prospect feels it would be an honor to follow in his dad’s footsteps.

“He played there, so that’d be a big thing to me and him and my family,” said Gibson.

Gibson is a long 6-foot-1 defensive back with very good reaction skills to go along with his elite speed, which is verified by his 10.85 PR in the 100-meter dash. He also works back down the field with good closing speed and can make plays on special teams as a returner.
