The New York Giants running back room was questionable this past season. ... even as the 2024 faith in young Tyrone Tracy Jr. grew.

Tracy played some solid football, showing explosiveness. ... but the team went into the 2025 NFL Draft wanting some insurance at the position.

And that is exactly what they got.

In a recent article by PFF's Trevor Sikkema, he goes over his favorite pick that every team made in the recent draft. For the Giants, his, as well as many fans' favorite pick was Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo.

"I like the smash-and-dash combination his tough running style brings to life with Tyrone Tracy Jr. already established in the lineup," Sikkema writes. "Skattebo earned an elite 94.6 PFF rushing grade in 2024 with the second-most missed tackles forced (103) in the country."

The Giants were the 10th-worst team in 2024 when it came to total rushing yards, so drafting a workhorse like Skattebo was a solid move.

He finished his final season with the Sun Devils with an absurd 1,711 rushing yards on 293 attempts, both of which led the Big 12 Conference. He was also able to get it done in the passing game with 605 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

The Giants have already found their young star in the wide receiver corps in Malik Nabers. Now, they will be hoping they have just found their running back of the future in Skattebo, and he can prove that by showing how much of a workhorse he is in rookie season.
