The Green Bay Packers will be entering training camp in a couple of weeks, along with the rest of the National Football League. With training camp just around the corner, the Green Bay Packers are adding more depth on offense to their list of talented players at that position.

According to Jordan Schultz on X, the Green Bay Packers are signing Will Sheppard to the team for the 2025 season. This will be his second stint with an NFL team since he left the Colorado Buffaloes in 2024.

Green Bay Packers Sign WR Will Sheppard

In his final collegiate season, Sheppard caught 48 passes for 621 yards and six touchdowns with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2024. During his earlier playing days, Sheppard played three seasons at Vanderbilt, and each season brought along improvement for the young wide receiver.

2022 was his best year as a receiver as he picked up 776 yards on 60 catches with the Commodores. Now, he will have a shot at showcasing his talent and skill set in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers in a little less than two months.

Green Bay Packers’ Wide Receiver Depth

As the Green Bay Packers head into the 2025 season, amping up the passing game looks to be a top priority with skill players such as Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Mecole Hardman as veterans on the team.

The Green Bay Packers drafted rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden in the 2025 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas for his speed and vertical ability on the field. Adding Sheppard is a good way to bring in a different variety and style at the same position for 2025.

Final Thoughts

Packers Quarterback Jordan Love is in dire need of a great season. Plagued by injury a season ago, the team could have had a good season, but there is always time for improvement. With the offense adding pieces to the wide receiving core, scoring ability should be easier and help this season due to a slump in red zone opportunities and scoring in 2023. More details on the deal are to come.
