The 'ERA leaders since 2003' quiz

For the first time since Game 5 of the 2024 World Series, Gerrit Cole is set to take a Major League mound for the New York Yankees

The 2023 Cy Young winner missed the entire 2025 season for New York after getting Tommy John surgery in spring training, and his 2026 return is timely for a starting rotation that recently lost Max Fried to elbow concerns.

The Yankees began the season with both Cole and Carlos Rodon on the injured list, but their rotation came out blistering despite being depleted. Through 50 games, Yankees starting pitchers have combined for the fifth-lowest ERA in baseball, and that’s with Rodon struggling to the tune of a 5.63 ERA in his two games since returning.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. At his best, Cole is one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, as shown by his three 250-strikeout seasons and two ERA titles. With that being said, how many of the pitchers with the lowest ERA in each league since 2003 can you name in six minutes?

Good luck!
