The Green Bay Phoenix have extended a scholarship to a talented in-state combo guard who could become a top future target.
Josh Manchester, a 2026 guard who attends Mount Horeb High School, recently received a scholarship from the Phoenix after performing well at summer tournaments. Manchester has been in talks with programs such as Iowa, Iowa State, and Minnesota, but no offers have been extended yet. The recruit has also spoken to the Wisconsin Badgers, but Green Bay is the first in-state program to offer the guard.
Manchester has been a rising star both on the AAU courts and the high school courts for Mount Horeb. The talented guard can play multiple positions on the court and has excited the Phoenix staff due to his balance of intelligent, paced play and creative scoring abilities.
On the court, Manchester can create a shot using little to no space and the accuracy the guard possesses is impressive considering the amount of contested shots that are taken. Manchester can create his own shots or catch-and-shoot from beyond the arc depending on what the offense may need in a given game. Perhaps the best area of play on offense for the guard is his long-range shooting, which continues to develop at an impressive rate.
For the Green Bay Phoenix, landing Manchester is very possible given the amount of time the recruit has left in his recruitment and the amount of current programs involved. Green Bay is still a relatively big player for Manchester and offers a chance for the recruit to stay close to home should he decide to do so. In terms of in-state talent in the 2026 class as well, Manchester might be the recruit Green Bay has the best chance of landing given his limited exposure thus far.
