Guitar Hotel Embodies the Future of Las Vegas

Once finished, the Hard Rock Las Vegas won’t just be amazing to look at, but will also offer a great hospitality experience.

The Guitar Hotel will have around 650–675 rooms, and when combined with the rooms in the renovated Mirage towers, there will be a total of 3,600 to 3,700 rooms. Guests will also enjoy large areas for gaming, dining, shopping, entertainment, and relaxation by the pools and spas.

This massive project will cost between $4 and $5 billion, making it one of the biggest projects happening on the Strip. Leaders of the project expect the whole resort to open by late 2027, turning the site into a paradise with a hard rock theme.

Comparison to the Florida Version (Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood)

The Las Vegas Guitar Hotel draws direct inspiration from the original Florida version, which opened in 2019 and was designed by Klai Juba Wald, the same architectural firm. However, the Las Vegas hotel is larger and specifically tailored for the Strip.

• Scale: The Florida hotel stands approximately 450 feet tall with 35 stories and 638 rooms. In contrast, the Las Vegas version is about 660 feet tall with 42 stories and approximately 650–675 rooms in the guitar tower alone. The Las Vegas hotel is more imposing and is integrated into a much larger resort complex.
• Design Similarities: Both hotels use back-to-back guitar forms, feature blue glass exteriors, and incorporate LED lighting and “strings” (light beams in Florida shoot far into the sky to simulate the guitar neck). Both emphasize music-themed dynamism.
• Differences: The Las Vegas hotel has more stories and a taller neck. It potentially offers expanded LED/media capabilities for visibility on a Strip scale, along with integration with renovated existing towers and massive new amenities, such as a larger casino and theater. Florida’s hotel is a standalone icon, known for its nightly choreographed light shows synced to music.

The Florida hotel is already a proven spectacle with millions of LEDs and rooftop cannons. The Las Vegas hotel aims to eclipse it as a skyline-defining landmark with a broader resort scale.

Who is the Guitar Hotel’s Design Team?

In addition to the topping-off ceremony, Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming, the masterminds behind the project, honored the many individuals contributing to its realization.

Guests included Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International, and Joe Lupo, President of Hard Rock Las Vegas. They were joined by architects from Klai Juba Wald and Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom. During the event, attendees participated in ceremonial activities, such as signing and raising a beam, while enjoying the impressive views from the hotel’s upper floors.

Key construction partners, including the PENTA Building Group and McCarthy, were also recognized alongside the thousands of workers involved in the project.

Guitar Hotel Will Be a Dazzling Spectacle on the Strip

The Guitar Hotel in Las Vegas is expected to change the typical lodging experience by offering an immersive blend of music-themed elements and state-of-the-art technology. The hotel’s exterior will be adorned with a custom LED media façade designed to captivate visitors with stunning nighttime displays. These displays will include animations and effects perfectly synchronized to music, promising a visual and auditory spectacle unlike any other.

Inside, guests will find accommodations that are not only luxurious but also steeped in rock ‘n’ roll culture. The rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, providing panoramic views that highlight the unique guitar-shaped structure of the hotel.
