The Hamilton Tiger-Cats continue to build their roster. On the transactions page of the CFL website, three of the players added by teams were signed by Hamilton, including former Montreal Alouettes defensive lineman Nick Usher, running back Marcus Cooper and wide receiver Juan Carlos Angulo-Santana.

Usher has played on three different CFL teams in his career, with his longest stint coming with the Als from 2021 to 2023. He also played for the BC Lions in the back half of the 2023 season and Edmonton in 2018 and 2019. Usher has posted 116 total tackles, 16 sacks and six forced fumbles in 62 career games.

Cooper is coming off a solid college career with Southeastern Louisiana and Incarnate Word from 2017 through 2022. While playing with Incarnate Word his last two seasons in college, he rushed for 2,016 yards and 20 rushing scores, adding 486 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions.

Angulo-Santana was on the San Antonio Brahmas roster last year in the XFL and received mini-camp invites with the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks. During his time with the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, he caught 176 passes for 2,640 yards and 18 touchdowns in 50 games.

This would put the Tiger-Cats at eight players signed from outside the team and four players re-signed from last year’s squad.
