Rolling into Week 9, the Chicago Hounds are all set to play on their home turf at SeatGeek Stadium. The contest starts at 2 p.m. ET live on ESPN+. Coming off a 27-20 win on the road in Week 8 against the San Diego Legion, Chicago (2-0 versus Anthem RC in 2024) proved they can handle tough matches.
Tim Hilsenbeck, Chicago fly-half, scored 10 points, while Lucas Rumball, playing flanker with an almost magnetic determination, put in 23 tackles, covered 33 contact meters, and even scored a try. The Hounds have built a reputation for sticking to their guns, picking up the fewest penalties around this season.
On the flip side, Anthem RC faces frustrations. After a 33-19 loss to NOLA Gold in Week 8, their losing streak has hit 23 games. Even though they controlled the field for a large percentage of the time, holding around 55.7% in territory and 58.4% in possession, they just couldn’t turn that into enough points.
Flanker Colin Turner did manage to create a spark on the field by scoring a try, and he contributed with 10 carries and 6 tackles. However, he also had a slip-up with a turnover and gave away a penalty, which didn’t help the overall scoreline for his team.
In their last meeting on June 22, 2024, Chicago narrowly defeated Anthem with a score of 38-29. This score was largely boosted by Dylan Fawsitt’s impressive two tries, as well as Chicago’s strong control of the game, holding onto about 60% of the ball. Now, back on their home field, the Hounds are eager to maintain their unbeaten streak against Anthem.
