It was the moment when Houston found out exactly where it stood in the Big 12 world.

Sort of. It might still be great, but it's not Texas Tech right now, losing at home 35-11.

But for a program that struggled for years, to win this and get to a 5-1 would be a giant step forward.

On the other side, Oklahoma State is desperate to have some fun. While everyone else in the conference is playing fun games, nothing is working. It'll take a minor miracle to win another game the rest of the year.

Why Houston Will Win

Oklahoma State isn't stopping anything.

The offense isn't great, but the defense is having a far harder time coming up with any production. The pass defense got lit up for over 800 yards and nine scores over the last two weeks.

The run defense was crushed for over 800 yards in a three-game stretch until Arizona had so much fun throwing it forgot to run. And as for the offense, it hit a low point.

The program of so much offensive production managed 158 yards in last week's loss to the Wildcats. But ...

Why Oklahoma State Will Win

Is anything going right for the Cowboys?

Short answer, no, but there's zero pressure now. It's a home game, Houston's offense is just okay, and Oklahoma State can let it rip.

The only thing that went right in last week's loss in Tucson was the three takeaways. Houston had just one giveaway in the first four games, and then turned it over three times against Texas Tech.

Oklahoma State has to be at least +2 in the turnover battle.

If Oklahoma State is Going to Win Another Game ...

It had better be this.

Cincinnati, Kansas State, and Iowa State are the only home games left, and it would take something amazing for this bunch to pull something together on the road.

Houston can't take too many chances. Just run the ball, keep the chains moving, and score early. The Cowboys don't have the ability to keep up.
