Donald Trump produced an unusual moment involving UFC stars Justin Gaethje and Ilia Topuria while speaking with reporters at the White House last Wednesday.
The four main fighters involved in UFC Freedom 250, the historic event planned for the White House grounds in June, visited the venue alongside the president to take pictures and film promotional content before the showcase.
During one media exchange, Trump unexpectedly turned to Gaethje for his opinion on the ongoing Iran conflict, creating a crossover moment that quickly spread across social media platforms.
A reporter asked Trump whether he remained optimistic about reaching an agreement after Iran reportedly refused to submit during negotiations surrounding the war.
“Their leaders are all dead, so I think we won. If we left Iran right now, it would take them 20 years to rebuild,” Trump said while addressing journalists gathered at the White House.
“You’d call that, we’re in good shape, right?” he then asked Gaethje while turning toward the UFC lightweight interim champion.

“Fantastic shape,” Gaethje replied instantly, while footage circulating online appeared to show Topuria subtly smiling after hearing the exchange between the president and the UFC star.
The interaction immediately sparked reactions online because of the unexpected combination of politics, international conflict and UFC personalities sharing the same discussion.
One fan wrote: “I like some of the Gaethje fights, but what the f— does he know about warfare?”
Another posted: “Ilia acts like how the average person would act in that room lmao, love it.”
Other viewers added: “Gaethje knew he had to say something positive quickly or get hit with the goybeam” and “Justin doesn’t even know what’s happening.”
