The players are back from the lemon break and the second half is underway in Jeddah. India are now kicking from right to left and Uzbekistan the other way.
After four added minutes, the referee brings the first half to an end. The Laziz penalty separates the two teams, going into the break. Barring that sole mistake from Rajrup, it has been a strong defensive display from the Blue Colts and they would hope to turn things around in the second half.
All the defensive hardwork from India comes undone with a moment of recklessness from Rajrup Sarkar. The goalie charges out to intercept an Uzbek attack and commits a foul in the process. The referee points to the spot and Laziz Abduraimov steps up to take it. The Uzbekistan forward slots it in the left corner to leave Rajrup with no chance, and India go behind 0-1.
India earn their first corner of the game and Denny Singh steps up to take it. His delivery leaves much to be desired, too long and out of range for any attacker at the goalmouth.
Uzbekistan are on the prowl, trying to find openings in the Indian defensive line. The Blue Colts, though, are solid and organized thus far and custodian Rajrup Sarkar is manning the post well too. Still early going in this encounter.
Play is underway at the King Abdullah Sports City Hall Stadium. India in their traditional blue kits, kicking from left to right and Uzbekistan, in white, going the other way in the first half.
Out come the Blue Colts, alongside Team Uzbekistan. The national anthems are played, starting with India's. Always a proud moment for an Indian team abroad to hear it ahead of a match, especially overwhelming for players as young as these.
