Jake Paul was unfazed by Dana White’s attempt to take away fan attention from one of his three main events tonight.
Right as Francis Ngannou began walking to the cage for his MMA return, White took to Instagram Live to make the biggest UFC announcement in recent memory. He confirmed that Conor McGregor will return to action on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a rematch against Max Holloway.
Paul seemed to not be aware of White’s announcement at all as he spoke to media immediately after the event. However, he did note that it clearly indicates there is interest and concern on the UFC’s end about their massive show.
Throughout the last few days, there was speculation that Dana White might make the announcement of a Conor McGregor comeback – which has been touted for weeks now – at some point during tonight’s Most Valuable Promotions MMA card.
White is a close friend of main event star Ronda Rousey and has expressed his fondness for Nate Diaz in the past as well. However, he has a long-standing feud with Francis Ngannou and decided his ring walk was the perfect time to drop his bombshell.

Jake Paul was asked about it after the fact, and had to be reminded what had happened before replying: “Ohh the c—head is back? That’s cool, bro. Drop it during our event, it doesn’t matter that just shows how pressed they are.
“Little insecure boys trying to piggyback off our event and trying to put some news over top of us, it’s not going to work, buddy.”
