It was all smiles in the Matchroom Boxing camp after Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis managed to secure a knockout over Lithuania’s Eimantas Stanionis within just six rounds to secure a victory and unify the IBF and WBA welterweight championship titles at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

It was a well-contested match, but Boots had the upper hand from the get-go. Boots used his slight height advantage to position himself as he landed body shots and uppercuts on his opponent who is known for his dynamic movement in the ring and quick feet.

Stanionis (16-1, 9 KOs), at 30 years old, received the first defeat of his pro career after 16 matches and lost his WBA welterweight world title. A title he held since 2022. Stanionis started brightly but was unable to go the distance which prompted the fight to be halted after the sixth round.

Boots (34-0, 30KOs), at 27 years old, provided the fans and his supporters with an impressive show, and at the end of the night he went home with three belts and is now a unified champion.

It took the new unified champion six rounds to get the job done as Stanionis is not an easy opponent and was currently unbeaten even though he had fewer fights under his belt as compared to Boots.

Boots landed some body shots and uppercuts during the contest, but it was in the sixth round that the champ went all in. Seconds to the clock, Boots landed strong body shots and some furious uppercuts strong enough that led to Stanionis taking the knee. He got up and finished the round but after the break and consultation with his team, the Lithuanian decided he was done for the night as he did not come out for the seventh round and therefore Boots was announced the winner by TKO.

Boots now Boosts a 34-0 career record and now all eyes are on him to see what he does next; will he try to unify further with bouts against WBC holder Mario Barrios and WBO champion Brian Norman Jr. Or will he decide to go a step up in weight class. For now, he is just enjoying his newly acquired status of unified world champion.
