Joe Rogan’s chat with Donald Trump at UFC 327 got fans talking, and now we know what was said.
Just a few weeks back, President Donald Trump was in attendance for another UFC event, this time in Miami for UFC 327.
Normally, the longtime fan gets a big cheer when he enters alongside Dana White. This time, though, the reaction from the crowd was more mixed than usual.
And when Trump walked over to have a word with commentator Joe Rogan, fans couldn’t help but wonder what they were discussing.
Rogan has been openly sceptical about the UFC White House event ever since it was first announced, raising concerns about the timing and questioning whether it was the right move.
He even went as far as to call the White House card a gimmick, saying that while he’ll still be commentating on it, he’s not thrilled about being involved.
That background is why so many fans were curious about what Rogan and Trump might have been discussing when they were spotted together in Miami.
Rogan recently visited the Oval Office for Trump’s signing of an executive order aimed at fast-tracking research into psychedelic drugs for veterans. He has since explained that their conversation at UFC 327 was related to that topic.
“I told him about (Ibogaine) and how effective it is and he said, ‘what are you looking for?’,” Rogan explained on a recent episode of his podcast.
“He said, ‘let’s do it’, and so literally he sees me at the UFC the next day, shakes my hand and says, ‘it’s done’. That’s what he was saying. And I said, ‘thank you, sir’. It wasn’t like he was mad at me, at all, it was the opposite. That’s exactly what happened,” Rogan continued.
Over recent years some fans have turned more critical of Rogan’s commentary work within the UFC, feeling that his passion for MMA isn’t quite where it used to be. Still, he’s remained a fixture behind the microphone for major events in America.
