Johni Broome Paired With Victor Wembanyama in Latest ESPN NBA Mock Draft

The Auburn Tigers season ended in the Final Four with a loss to the eventual national champion Florida Gators, and now fans have the offseason to recover from a devastating loss.

Johni Broome, notably one of the best transfers in the history of college basketball, was a staple for the Tigers' success, earning various awards, and a national player of the year finalist.

With Broome's success, he has been surging in recent NBA mock drafts, most recently finding a home with plenty of potential.

Early in the second round in ESPN's recent NBA mock draft , the San Antonio Spurs select Broome with the 38th pick, pairing him with superstar Victor Wembanyama.

It is hard to think of a better possible scenario for the now Auburn Tigers legend. He could fit seamlessly into the power forward of the team, and barring injuries the starting five for the Spurs could look like: De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Johni Broome, and Victor Wembanyama.

He may not immediately start, as Keldon Johnson and Harrison Barnes have been playing great basketball for the Spurs, but Broome being on this roster could make them a dangerous team in a couple of years.

This mock draft also has the Spurs taking Duke freshman Kon Knueppel at No. 8, and French center Joan Beringer at No. 15. Knueppel with an immediate big play ability and impact with Beringer being a perfect depth piece in what could shape up to be one of the top front court's in the NBA.

The Spurs are currently sitting 13th in the Western Conference, and will not be making the playoffs this season. An injury to Wembanyama (blood clot in right shoulder) ending his season, and a rough losing streak to close the season has them looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, and there is plenty to look forward to.
