Miami, Fla. — UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a final default judgment against streaming promoter Fanmio for $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest, stemming from alleged non-payment tied to his 2024 boxing match with Nate Diaz.

What the Judgment Says

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez granted Masvidal’s motion for final default judgment after an arbitrator earlier awarded him more than $5.3 million. The award includes $4.85 million in compensatory damages along with attorneys’ fees and interest.

How the Dispute Started

Masvidal signed to fight Diaz with a guaranteed $6 million purse (rising to $7 million with a win). Although Masvidal lost the bout, he alleges Fanmio paid only $1 million plus a $150,000 advance, leaving a multi-million-dollar balance. After Fanmio allegedly failed to remit the remainder, Masvidal pushed the matter to arbitration in January, won the award, and then moved to confirm it in court when Fanmio didn’t respond triggering the default.

Diaz’s Parallel Case

Masvidal isn’t the only fighter claiming unpaid funds from the event. Nate Diaz alleges Fanmio and company president Solomon Engel agreed to pay $10 million ($1 million upfront and $9 million after the fight). A separate arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million and imposed a $500,000 personal penalty on Engel, plus fees and interest. Diaz now awaits federal court confirmation of that award.

What Comes Next

With the default judgment entered, Masvidal can pursue collection and enforcement potentially including bank levies or other remedies if Fanmio does not voluntarily pay. Meanwhile, Fanmio faces multiple liabilities from the Diaz–Masvidal promotion, setting up further legal maneuvering in the months ahead.
