Restricted NBA free agent Josh Giddey wants a four-year, $120 million deal from the Chicago Bulls, sources told DallasHoopsJournal.

The Bulls have only offered Giddey a four-year, $80 million contract, sources said.

The Golden State Warriors are interested in Giddey, but Chicago will not sign-and-trade the Australian point-forward, sources said, and there are no teams with cap space to sign Giddey to an offer sheet.

Giddey averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks last season for the Bulls, shooting 46.5% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 78.1% from the free-throw line. He recorded 3 0 double-doubles and seven triple-doubles in 70 games.

Chicago acquired Giddey from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Alex Caruso trade. Caruso helped the Thunder win the 2025 championship against the Indiana Pacers in seven games, while Giddey and the Bulls missed the 2025 playoffs.

Giddey turns 23 in October. He has career averages of 14.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Thunder and Bulls.

The sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Giddey has two options left as a restricted free agent. He can either sign the four-year, $80 million contract the Bulls have offered him or play next season on a one-year qualifying offer and then become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

Giddey is seeking an annual salary in the $30 million range, sources said. He has until October 1 to sign his qualifying offer worth $11.1 million for next season.

Chicago has made the playoffs just once (2022) since trading Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night in 2016. The franchise is stuck in mediocrity after winning six championships in the ’90s behind Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

It will be fascinating to see what happens between Josh Giddey and the Bulls, who haven’t won a postseason series since 2015.
