Kansas State true freshman tight end Linkon Cure just landed a major accolade in the virtual world.

EA Sports College Football 26 assigned him an 81 overall rating, tied for the fifth-highest among all true freshmen in the game.

Cure’s rating is especially notable because EA factored both his elite high school production and early promise at Kansas State into the game’s metrics. His 6-foot-5 frame and versatility, highlighted by state titles in track hurdles and a 2025 All-American Bowl selection, helped boost his stock not just in real life but also on the digital gridiron.

That puts Cure just behind the top freshmen like Oregon WR Dakorien Moore (84), Clemson RB Gideon Davidson (83), and LSU’s Harlem Berry (83). He sits in rarefied company with other 81-rated first-year players such as Texas’s James Simon and Maryland’s Zymear Smith.

Cure’s high profile in the game adds another layer of expectation for Kansas State fans already excited about what he can bring on the field.

It’s rare to see a true freshman tight end garner this level of attention before taking a college snap, and even rarer on a national gaming platform. But Cure’s blend of size, athleticism, and local star power seems to have translated seamlessly from Goodland, Kansas, into the EA playbook.

Expect Cure to be a key red-zone factor for the Wildcats, and now, he’s a player you don’t just watch live, you line up across from in your virtual dynasty mode, too.
