Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats have another new face on their roster in 2025-26, with the team moving toward the JUCO route for their newest addition.

According to multiple reports, Stephen Osei, a 6-foot-11 big man from Casper College, is headed to Manhattan, but is expected to redshirt in 2025-26.

In his freshman season with the Thunderbirds, Osei posted some decent numbers. Across 26 total games played, Osei recorded 11 points and seven rebounds per game in just 21.2 minutes per night.

Coming out of Utah Prep High School in the Class of 2024, Osei was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 243rd-ranked player. He also checked in as the 40th-ranked player in his class and the fifth-ranked player in the state of Utah.

While the addition adds some significant size to Tang’s squad in the frontcourt, his impact won’t be noted until at least 2026-27. On3’s Joe Tipton and several others have already confirmed his intention to redshirt this year.

The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in the 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
