Lexington, Kentucky – The Kentucky Softball team, led by head coach Rachel Lawson, has unveiled their challenging 2024 schedule. This season, the Wildcats will face formidable competition, going up against four Women’s College World Series teams, seven NCAA Super Regional round teams, and 17 different teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season.

One of the highlights of the schedule is Kentucky’s return to the ESPN Shirners Children’s Clearwater Elite Invitational presented by Evoshield. This premier college softball non-conference tournament features games televised on the ESPN family of networks.

To kick off the season, the Wildcats will travel to San Diego to compete in the SDSU Season Kick-off on Super Bowl weekend. They will face tough opponents such as Stanford, Minnesota, SDSU, and UC Santa Barbara. Following this, Kentucky will participate in the ESPN tournament in Clearwater, Florida. There, they will go head-to-head with teams like Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and UCF from February 15-17 at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.

In the later stages of February, the Carolinas are on the agenda for Kentucky as they will play in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina during back-to-back weekends. The annual John Cropp Classic, held in Lexington from March 15-17, will feature Ohio State, South Dakota State, and Columbia.

Conference play will commence with a series against LSU from March 8-10, followed by three more home SEC series against Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. On the road, Kentucky will face tough competition from Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, and Tennessee in league play.

The 2024 SEC Tournament will be held from May 7-11 and will be hosted by the Auburn Tigers.
