Kentucky WBB Wins Easily In Hometown Return For Clara Strack

The Buffalo Bulls women’s basketball team hosted the Kentucky women’s basketball team for a game on Sunday November 9th.

Before the game, Clara Strack and her Kentucky teammates held a meet-and-greet at her alma mater, Hamburg High, where she is the all-time leading scorer. Strack, a junior, was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year last season as a sophomore and is a watch list player for the Naismith Player of the Year award this season.

Highlights From The Road Trip

  • The game: Kentucky defeated Buffalo with a final score of 81-47 in Buffalo, NY. The game was a homecoming for Kentucky’s center, Clara Strack, who grew up in the Buffalo area.
  • Clara Strack’s performance: In her hometown game, Strack recorded a career-high 27 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had four blocked shots. She also had 12 rebounds, a double-double that helped lead the Wildcats to victory.
  • Other notable performances: Teonni Key also had a strong performance, earning a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Team performance: The Wildcats secured their third win of the season, improving to 3-0. They were dominant on defense, holding Buffalo to just 17 points in the first half. The Cats also outrebounded the Bulls 41-39 and blocked 11 shots as a team.
  • Fan engagement: Before the game, Strack and the team participated in a meet and greet with fans at Hamburg High School, Strack’s alma mater. 

What’s Next For The Kentucky Women’s Team

The No. 24/20 Wildcats return to the court on Wednesday night November 12th, hosting USC Upstate inside Historic Memorial Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on SEC Network Plus.
