Knicks Players Denied Entry to Sabrina Carpenter, Madonna’s Met Gala After-Party

The New York Knicks spent Monday night looking like the biggest stars until they tried to walk through the wrong door. After a historic playoff performance, several players found out that even a 39-point victory does not guarantee a spot on Madonna’s Met Gala after-party.

Multiple stars from the team were reportedly turned away from a Met Gala after-party early Tuesday morning. The event was hosted by pop stars Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna at Zero Bond.

The rejection at the door was not about a lack of fame or a dress code issue. According to a report from TMZ, the party had a very strict guest list that was capped at just 200 people. Security followed a “no plus-ones” policy.

The Knicks players were not the only ones who couldn’t get past the velvet rope. Many other famous faces were also told they were not on the list. After being denied entry, some of the players headed over to another popular nightlife spot called The Box.

The Knicks had just defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 137-98 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The energy at Madison Square Garden was already at a celebrity peak. Celebrity Row was filled with Jay-Z, Ben Stiller, and Timothée Chalamet, who chose to attend the game instead of the Met Gala.

Other famous fans in the building included Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, and Chris Meloni. At one point, Fallon even had his shoes untied by player Josh Hart during a break in the action.

While the players may have missed out on the late-night party, their performance has put them in a position to make a deep run toward a championship.

New York remains locked in for the deep playoff run

The blowout win set several historic records for the franchise. With that victory, they became the first team in NBA history to win three consecutive playoff games by 25 points or more.

They have also led by at least 30 points in three straight postseason games, a feat not seen since play-by-play tracking began in the late 1990s.

On the court, Jalen Brunson was the main attraction. He scored 35 points in total, with 27 of those coming in a first-half performance.

OG Anunoby finished with 18 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 points and six rebounds in only 20 minutes of action.

The New York Knicks hold a 2-0 lead over the Philadelphia 76ers as the series moves away from Manhattan. Following the Game 1 and the after-party headlines, the team also managed to win Game 2 by a score of 108-102. Game 3 is set for Friday, May 8, in Philadelphia, followed by Game 4 on Sunday.
