Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James knows what it's like to handle pressure. He entered the NBA in 2003 as an 18-year-old when he was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Since then, people have held him to a high standard.

This is why he understands the pressure on Shedeur Sanders, who was the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns' preseason opener. The Browns played against the North Carolina Panthers on Friday, and coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Sanders' role in the game ahead of time.

There are high expectations from supporters for Sanders to do well because he was selected 144th overall.

LeBron James Offers Encouragement to Sanders

Sanders was an accomplished college football star. However, he's battled fellow rookie, Dillon Gabriel, and veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett to become the top quarterback on the team.

Ahead of the contest, the Browns reported that Gabriel and Pickett won't suit up due to their hamstring injuries.

In the exhibition match, Sanders showed off his talent and even impressed the four-time NBA champion. The Lakers star took to social media to let everyone know about his thoughts on the young athlete.

"That young looking good out there! @ShedeurSanders Keep going UP!!! HEAD down on the grind and HEAD high to the most high " James posted on X.

At the moment of James' post, Sanders had already made a strong impression on the crowd. The quarterback threw for 138 yards and helped the Browns with two touchdowns.
