Notre Dame continues to build its 2026 recruiting board, and one position the staff is actively addressing is linebacker—specifically a rover-type defender. The Irish recently extended an offer to Beau Jandreau, a versatile linebacker out of Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton, and it’s clear that they see big-time potential in his game.
At 6-1, 210 pounds, Jandreau might not be the biggest linebacker in the class, but when you turn on the film, his speed, athleticism, and physicality jump off the screen. Recruiting rankings haven’t quite caught up to his talent yet, but his offer list—featuring programs like USC, Oregon, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Washington—tells you everything you need to know.
Notre Dame is no stranger to developing high-IQ, high-motor linebackers who may not always fit the “prototype” size-wise but make up for it with instincts, range, and explosiveness. Jandreau fits that mold perfectly.
Irish Breakdown’s Owner Bryan Driskell evaluated Jandreau’s film and came away impressed with his sideline-to-sideline range, coverage instincts, and ability to fight through blocks with quick hands. His closing speed is elite, and he delivers hits with serious force. He’s exactly the kind of modern linebacker that thrives in a rover role—capable of dropping into coverage, blitzing off the edge, and flying around against the run.
For Jandreau, the Notre Dame offer was a big moment. The Irish weren’t just another school throwing their hat in the ring—this was an opportunity he truly appreciated.
“I was super excited,” Jandreau said about receiving the offer. “God truly blessed me with this opportunity, I can’t thank Him enough. I was calling my family, telling everyone. Not everyone receives offers from the #2 school in the country.”
If Notre Dame wants to seriously contend in this recruitment, getting Jandreau on campus will be key. He already has visits lined up to USC, Oklahoma, Oregon State, and Washington, and he’s looking to add Notre Dame to that list in the near future.
“I hope so—they are a priority,” he said when asked about visiting Notre Dame. “Still talking about getting on campus with the fam.”
Right now, Jandreau is keeping an open mind, but Notre Dame has positioned itself as a legitimate contender.
“Yes sir, they would be,” he said when asked if Notre Dame will be in the mix for his commitment. “Just keeping an open mind and respecting everyone and letting God put what school He wants me at on my heart.”
One of the biggest things that excites Jandreau about Notre Dame? The winning culture.
“Most of all would have to be the winning culture that they built throughout the years,” he said. “They have established themselves as a great program, not just this season, but over time as well.”
Notre Dame is entering a competitive battle for Jandreau, but the Irish are hitting the right notes early. The key will be securing an official visit, where they can showcase their elite defensive development, strong academics, and championship-level expectations.
The talent is there. The fit is there. Now, it’s all about building the relationship and proving to Jandreau why South Bend should be his next home.
Jandreau holds offers from Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Arizona, Boise State, Cal, Kansas State, Minnesota, Nebraska, San Diego State, and Arizona State.
