The Detroit Lions' receiving corps found itself in need of an upgrade this offseason after Jared Goff and the Lions were unable to keep pace with Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders during their 2025 playoff loss at Ford FIeld.
The loss sent general manager Brad Holmes and assistant general manager Ray Agnew on a quest to find help for Goff in the passing game, leading to an unlikely selection at the NFL draft last month in Green Bay.
Detroit traded up to select former Arkansas Razorbacks wide receiver and Michigan native Isaac TeSlaa, a move that came amid fierce competition from competitors to nab the rising former Hogs receiver.
On Saturday, the Lions rookie got a welcome message from a three-time Pro Bowler and new teammate who took to social media to reveal his message.
"Isaac TeSlaa welcome to Detroit," the St. Brown Podcast, starring Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and his brother Equanimeous St. Brown, wrote on Saturday, along with a flexing arm emoji.
The page also shared a video of TeSlaa making an acrobatic catch in practice turned heads of readers.

TeSlaa was chosen in the third round with the No. 70 overall pick. He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 217 pounds.
TeSlaa had 28 catches for 545 yards and three touchdowns last season in Fayetteville with the Razorbacks, numbers that don't jump off the paper but show the potential of a player many believe is just scratching the surface of his considerable talents.
If TeSlaa can replicate the kind of play shown in St. Brown's post, Detroit may have found a second deep threat to work alongside Jameson Williams in new offensive coordinator John Morton's offense this season.
