On Tuesday evening, some of the biggest names in darts – including Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Fallon Sherrock, and Nathan Aspinall – took part in a rather unique event: The Hyde Darts Park Championship. What made it so special? All matches were played outdoors on a large stage, rather than inside a traditional indoor venue.

The tournament featured a fun pairs competition, with the pros teaming up with well-known British personalities, followed by a mini singles tournament between the professional players themselves.

In the pairs event, Fallon Sherrock and British TV actor Joe Swash emerged victorious, defeating Nathan Aspinall and former footballer Dion Dublin in the final. Dublin, who previously played for the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa, couldn't quite get the better of Sherrock and Swash, who sealed the win 2-1 in a best-of-three legs format.

In the singles tournament, it was Luke Humphries who lifted the trophy. ‘Cool Hand Luke’ edged out Fallon Sherrock 6-5 in a tight semi-final, before facing his namesake Luke Littler in the final. Littler had overcome Aspinall 6-3 in his own semi-final, but couldn’t stop Humphries in the decider, with the world number one taking a 6-4 win.

It was a memorable and unconventional evening of darts, made even more challenging by the outdoor conditions – especially the wind. Fortunately for the players, the sport’s biggest titles are still contested indoors.
